KYC Documents

• Scanned copies or photographs of PAN card, address proof (utility bill, bank statement, passport, or voter ID), GST certificate
• Selfie photograph for identity verification
• Address proof documents

Transaction Information

• Order history, quantities, prices
• Bank transfer references and payment screenshots

Device and Usage Information

• Device type, operating system, and app version
• Push notification token for order status alerts
• Log data including access times and feature usage

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your personal information to:

• Verify your identity and complete KYC as required by PMLA and applicable regulations.
• Process and fulfil your bullion purchase orders.
• Communicate with you about your orders, account, and updates.
• Detect and prevent fraud, money laundering, and other illegal activities.
• Send push notifications for order status updates (you may disable these in device settings).
• Comply with legal obligations and respond to regulatory or law enforcement requests.
• Improve our app and services through aggregated, anonymised analytics.

3. Legal Basis for Processing

We process your personal data on the following legal bases under applicable Indian data protection laws:

• Contractual necessity — to provide services you have requested.
• Legal obligation — to comply with PMLA, RBI guidelines, and other applicable laws.

4. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell your personal information. We may share it with:

• Cloudinary — for secure storage of KYC documents and payment screenshots.
• Courier and logistics partners — limited details (name and address) required for bullion delivery.
• Regulatory and law enforcement authorities — when required by law.

All third-party service providers are contractually obligated to protect your data and use it only for the purposes for which it was shared.

5. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active and for a minimum of 5 years after account closure, as required under PMLA regulations for KYC and transaction records. You may request deletion of non-mandatory data by contacting us.

6. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including:

• Encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS)
• Secure credential storage using device keychain / secure storage
• JWT-based authentication with token expiry
• Access controls restricting data to authorised personnel only

While we take reasonable precautions, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. Please protect your login credentials and notify us immediately if you suspect a breach.

7. Your Rights

Under applicable Indian data protection laws, you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
• Request deletion of your data (subject to legal retention obligations).
• Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
• Lodge a complaint with the relevant data protection authority.

8. Permissions We Request

The Simni Bullion app requests the following device permissions:

• Camera — to capture KYC documents, selfies, and payment screenshots.
• Photo Library — to upload existing images for KYC documents and payment proof.
• Push Notifications — to send order status updates. You may disable this in device settings at any time.

We only request permissions necessary for the stated purposes. No permission is used for background data collection or advertising.

9. Children's Privacy

Our services are not directed at persons under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via in-app notification or email. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
